NORTHWOODS ECONOMIC SUMMIT VI
Northwoods Economic Summit VI will be held at the Four Seasons Resort in Pembine WI on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Northeast Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula businesses, educators, nonprofit and government agencies are invited to attend this sixth annual conference. The public is invited. Registration fee is $35 in advance, $45 the day of the Summit.
The Summit is a continuation of the discussion of how to expand and diversify the economy of the Northwoods region. Summit VI is a daylong facilitated gathering of educators, government, NGOs and business leaders to plan the future economic growth of the Wisconsin’s northern region and the Upper Peninsula.
Featured this year are presentations on business development through entrepreneurship and the implementation of lean process. Also featured is a discussion of the rural “Brian Drain” based on the findings of the recent study Hollowing Out the Middle, as well as information about employment opportunities at Marinette Marine.
Regional updates on NEW North, labor market trends and the Upper Peninsula Regional Innovation Grant will also be presented.
